Pyridoxal-5-phosphate is a water soluble vitamin known as Vitamin B6. It works as coenzyme in a number of metabolic pathways and performs a wide variety of functions in the body, being involved in greater than 100 enzyme reactions in the body and involved in protein metabolism. It is vital for detoxification, DNA production, and hormone production. Vitamin B6 is also involved in brain development during pregnancy and infancy as well as immune function.
